Harry and Hobby are two Shire horse brothers. They are both black with four white legs. They were born in March and April 2005. They stand at around 18 hands and weigh a considerable amount. We were fortunate to be able to choose Harry and Hobby from amongst thirty similar youngsters belonging to one of the most prestigious Shire horse breeders in the UK. They arrived in Spain in September of 2008 when they were three and a half years old.
We have started, trained, ridden and driven the Shires at home on our farm. We began, as we have with all previous youngsters, gaining their trust with careful handling and affection. We then rode them in the ring and then out and about. Later they were harnessed with controlled weight and then long reined. Harry and Hobby were at first driven in singles and then in pairs. Today they are a fine pair of Shires, strong, well mannered, calm and good willed. You can see them any day working on the farm or taking people for a ride around the village of Chulilla. Harry and Hobby have attracted the interest of a couple of television channels who have filmed them at work, these videos can be seen in the Gallery.
